Proudly brought to you by the Australian Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ASTSS) and Phoenix Australia, the 23^rd Australasian Conference on Traumatic Stress (ACOTS) will be held in Sydney on the lands of Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. For more than three decades, ACOTS has brought together the people and organisations shaping how trauma is understood and addressed across Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand and the broader region. This year, we've decided to focus on our ever-complex and interconnected world, how this relates to trauma, and how we can collectively navigate it with new and innovative ideas. Our ACOTS 2027 conference theme is:

Rethinking and Navigating Trauma in a Complex World

Bringing together research, policy, lived experience and practice, the conference will examine the biological, psychological, social and cultural influences that shape trauma and recovery, and support the translation of emerging knowledge into meaningful action. Created specifically for researchers, practitioners, policy makers, service leaders, and lived-experience advocates, ACOTS 2027 offers a curated scientific program comprising keynotes, workshops, panel discussions, masterclasses, symposia, presentations, and poster sessions. All this sits alongside an engaging social program and opportunities for connecting with others committed to advancing the field.
